Many styles of dance for comprehensive training
Dance is an integral component of the discipline of musical. At Professione Musical it is developed through the study of jazz, classical ballet, contemporary, Spanish, pas de deux and tap, both practically and theoretically, so as to fully understand the human body and make the most of personal aptitudes and avoid injury. Classical ballet is the basis of every technique. It encourages the acquisition of line, the placement of the body, correct posture, the use of space and the understanding of one’s body.
Jazz lessons develop flexibility, strength, energy, coordination, control, resistance and the ability to memorise choreography and assimilate corrections.
Classical and jazz pas de deux teaches students to work together in unison with a partner.
Other than acquiring the knowledge of other dance techniques, tap and Spanish improve the use of dynamics and rhythm.
Contemporary dance once a week develops the use of gravity, fluidity of movement and breathing.
Combined singing and dance lessons are also organised to develop further both disciplines.
Additional subjects that also exist are: preparation for Royal Academy of Dance (classical ballet for dancers and teachers) and Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (jazz and tap for dancers and teachers).
